About the Artists & Speakers
Jane Porter is an award-winning children’s author and illustrator based in south-west London. Her work is inspired by nature, and she loves experimenting with new materials and even making her own ink.
Jane’s recent books, A Little Bit of Hush (written by Paul Stewart), and The Girl Who Noticed Everything, (illustrated by Maisie Paradise Shearring) were both are on the Sunday Times ‘Best Children’s Books of the year′ list, and her books have won several awards including the Little Rebels Award, the Derby Picture Book Prize and a Christopher Award in the US. When she’s not making books, Jane enjoys creating trails and maps for museums, making murals, teaching an online comics class for adults, and running a weekly art class at a local nursery. She also loves making up new stories with children on school visits.
